This kit is intended for in vitro qualitative detection of Human Bocavirus (HBoV) nucleic acid in human oropharyngeal swabs specimens.

Human Bocavirus infection is mainly manifested as rhinitis, pharyngitis, pneumonia, acute otitis media or gastroenteritis, and symptoms such as cough, dyspnea, chills, fever, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea may occur. Human Bocavirus is positive in 1% to 10% of respiratory specimens from children and adults with acute respiratory disease.

Human Bocavirus belongs to the family Parvoviridae, subfamily Parvoviridae, genus Bocavirus, and is a non-enveloped single-stranded DNA virus. It is mainly transmitted to susceptible people through respiratory inhalation infection or contact with infectious sputum, feces or urine. Infection can occur throughout the year, with high incidence in winter and spring.
