This lyophilized kit is intended for the in-vitro qualitative detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis(TB); Mycobacterium avium(MAC); Mycobacterium xenopi(xen); Mycobacterium kansasii(kan) nucleic acid in human respiratory specimens like sputum, bronchoalveolar lavage fluid. It is suitable for Mycobacterium tuberculosis(TB); Mycobacterium avium(MAC); Mycobacterium xenopi(xen); Mycobacterium kansasii(kan) identification and auxiliary diagnosis of infection.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis (TB) is one of the world's deadliest infectious diseases and a major global public health challenge.
Mycobacterium avium Complex (MAC) is a group of bacteria, common in soil and water, that usually doesn't harm healthy people but can cause serious lung infections or widespread disease, especially in those with weakened immune systems (like advanced AIDS) or pre-existing lung issues (like COPD, bronchiectasis), leading to symptoms like chronic cough, weight loss, fever, and fatigue, and is treated with long-term, multi-drug antibiotics.
Mycobacterium xenopi is a less common but notable cause of NTM pulmonary disease, particularly in certain geographic regions (e.g., Europe, northeastern North America).
Mycobacterium kansasii is a bacterium in the Mycobacterium genus. It is an environmental bacteria that causes opportunistic infections in humans, and is one of the leading mycobacterial causes of human disease after tuberculosis and leprosy.
