PACKAGE SPECIFICATION
48T/Kit
INTENDED USE
This kit is intended for in vitro qualitative detection of Human Enterovirus 71 (EV71) nucleic acid in human oropharyngeal swabs specimens.
The main clinical symptoms of EV71 infection are: infected patients, especially children, skin and mucous membrane herpes and ulcers on hands, feet, mouth and other parts, and most of them are accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, anorexia, fatigue, and listlessness. Mild infections can cause diarrhea, fever, herpetic rash, aseptic meningitis, encephalitis, myocarditis, and severe cases can manifest as acute flaccid paralysis (AFP), pulmonary edema or hemorrhage, and even death. EV71 mainly infects infants and young children, mainly children under 5 years old.
EV71 belongs to the Picornaviridae family, the genus Enterovirus. Since the virus particle has no lipoid envelope, it is resistant to decontaminants, Ethyl ether, deoxycholate, and weak acids. In addition, the virus is resistant to common disinfections such as 70% Ethanol and 5% Saponated Cresol Solution, all of which determine the strong ability of the virus to survive in the wild. EV71 virus has poor resistance to high temperature (above 50℃) and ultraviolet light.
This kit is suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of EV71 infection, clinical correlation with patient history and other diagnostic information is necessary to determine patient infection status. Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. The agent detected may not be the definite cause of disease. Negative results must be combined with clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiological information to make decision.
This kit is intended for use by qualified and trained clinical laboratory personnel specifically instructed and trained in the techniques of real-time PCR and in vitro molecular diagnostic procedures.
This kit is for in vitro diagnostic use only.
