PACKAGE SPECIFICATION
48T/Kit
INTENDED USE
This kit is intended for in vitro qualitative detection of Human Enterovirus (EV) nucleic acid in human oropharyngeal swabs specimens.
The main clinical symptoms of EV infection are: infected patients, especially children, skin and mucous membrane herpes and ulcers on hands, feet, mouth and other parts, and most of them are accompanied by systemic symptoms such as fever, anorexia, fatigue, and listlessness. Mild infections can cause diarrhea, fever, herpetic rash, aseptic meningitis, encephalitis, myocarditis, and severe cases can manifest as acute flaccid paralysis (AFP), pulmonary edema or hemorrhage, and even death. EV mainly infects infants and young children, mainly children under 5 years old.
Human Enteroviruses belong to the family Picornaviridae, the genus Enterovirus, including the following 4 categories: 1) poliovirus, with three types 1, 2, and 3; 2) Coxsackie virus, divided into two groups, A and B, group A includes types 1-22, 24, group B includes types 1-6; 3) Echovirus, including types 1-9, 11-27, 29-33; 4) new enteroviruses, which were isolated after 1969, including types 68, 69, 70 and 71.
This kit is suitable for the auxiliary diagnosis of EV infection, clinical correlation with patient history and other diagnostic information is necessary to determine patient infection status. Positive results do not rule out bacterial infection or co-infection with other viruses. The agent detected may not be the definite cause of disease. Negative results must be combined with clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiological information to make decision.
This kit is intended for use by qualified and trained clinical laboratory personnel specifically instructed and trained in the techniques of real-time PCR and in vitro molecular diagnostic procedures.
This kit is for in vitro diagnostic use only.
